Sex-disaggregated Data

To achieve gender mainstreaming, we have to collect and analyse sex-disaggregated statistics systematically and scientifically when analysing the current situation. It ensures that policies and practices are not based on incorrect assumptions and stereotypes.

The Census and Statistics Department has since 2001 compiled an annual statistical publication "Women and Men in Hong Kong - Key Statistics" to provide objective data on the situations and needs of both genders in various aspects.
